Roy Scheider, who people will know best from his role in Jaws, has died today, Sunday the 10th of February at the ages of 75. From MSNBC:
Scheider died Sunday at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock, hospital spokesman David Robinson said. The hospital did not release a cause of death.
However, hospital spokeswoman Leslie Taylor said Scheider had been treated for multiple myeloma at the hospital’s Myeloma Institute for Research and Therapy for the past two years.
This is very sad news indeed. Scheider was a fantastic actor, from the aforementioned Jaws to Marathon Man andSeaQuest DSV, and more recently playing the role of Frank Castle Sr. in The Punisher, he had a very respectable career, and cemented his standing amongst Hollywood legends. Not above poking fun at himself, Roy also appeared in an episode of Family Guy, doing a toilet training video.
Coming so soon after the loss of Heath Ledger and Brad Renfro, this marks quite a loss of talented actors. He will be missed. RIP.

I saw him on the tv news this morning. I was rushing around so I missed the story. I just thought he won a lifetime achievement award or something.
Roy "Bigger Boat" Scheider?!... Wow, that's a surprise.
Sad news indeed.
One of those guys that I just didn't realize how old he was. Not that 75 is very old, especially these days, but still, I thought he was still in his 60s.
Hi,
I just droped by to say thankyou for visiting my blog and found this post. That's really a sad fact, I liked a lot his performances, but everyone has to leave someday.
Hope he rest in peace.
Regards
Anthony
